One of the key issues with stacker setups is weight. You want the trailer durable enough to handle the extra weight of the contents, but you do not want the total weight of the trailer WITH contents to be too heavy for your tow vehicle. At Universal Trailers, we review the ratings of your tow vehicle. We try to design a stacker that is within your limits, putting in equipment you need, but not too much to insure your tow vehicle is capable and legal to tow the trailer down the road.
Balancing the equipment you intend to haul is also a consideration, something we engineer into the design by positioning the wheels properly. Most stackers come with triple axles to insure stability and safety for your target gross vehicle weight, and they are 102’ wide a 96’ opening for the rear door.
